Match Report Sunday the 24th of September APR REDs U9s.
After a good warm up APR came out of the blocks flying straight from the kick off!
With APR playing downhill for the 1st 2 quarters the coaches encouraged the kids to get plenty of shots in and they did just that. JAYDN scored with a powerful effort from the edge of the box that had too much on it for the opposition keeper.
APR really started to take control of the game and not long after some great football and hard work off the ball resulted in a goal for LIANA who has been a real live wire since rejoining APR.
APR were solid at the back with CHARLIE and GEORGE letting nothing past them and didn’t let the opposition have a shot on target in the 1st quarter.
The 2nd quarter APR kept the pressure on and had some good efforts, but the game became quite scrappy as the opposition started to show a lot of fight as they tried to get back into the game, but there were no goals in the 2nd quarter.
This carried on into the 3rd quarter with opposition really trying to get back into the game, but APR showed a lot of fight to keep them out with some solid defending, a great goaline clearance from BRAYDEN and some great saves from MAX kept the opposition out. APR had a few chances to seal the game with GEORGIE being a real menace at times but couldn’t score so no goals in the 3rd quarter.
The 4th quarter began and APR really put some shine on the game with an OUTSTANDING long range effort from HENRY that flew into the top corner, even though he was shooting uphill and against wind nothing was stopping that effort from going in!
There was some great football from both sides, end to end at times. Then JADYN managed a quick break away with a good run and playing some good football with his team he managed to score his 2nd.
The opposition kept going and managed to score a good goal with powerful effort that couldn’t be kept out.
Every player playing for APR today was in with a shout for player of the match as they all worked really hard, played really well and played in a number of positions when asked to.
For APR the parents player of the match was HENRY for his constant hard work, great football and his AMAZING goal!
Also for APR the coaches the player of the match was LEON for his constant hard work, battling and determination to win!
It was a good performance from the whole team which sent everyone from APR home happy.
