APR U13’s girls took part in the Bentley tournament on Saturday. The day seemed as long as the Euros lasted with a game every hour or so.
Bearing in mind pretty much the whole team had never played 11 a side before and the U13’s team is brand new, APR were competitive in every game under new/ old management.
The girls finished 3rd overall and narrowly missed out on the champions league final but made it into the Europa final beating Sheffield United and drawing against Barnsley girls along the way.
New u13’s manager Andy Jones said “I just wanted to say I’m really proud of all the girls today and I couldn’t ask for anymore as a manager, they gave it 100%. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, I just wanted the girls to get a bit more experience but most of all enjoy it! And we came away with 3rd place in the table and finalist so personally I’m buzzing for them, there’s some graft and heart in this team! Thanks to all parents for your time much appreciated!”
